Demography

Durée de vie
For people for whom we had all the informations born between 1530 and 1950, i.e. 373 women and 406 men, the average lifespan is the same, regardless of gender: 58 years.

We segmented by age bracket, and we got the result below.

For women:

Year of birth range Average lifespan (years) Number of individualss
Up to 1700 56 126
From 1701 à 1800 52 134
From 1801 à 1950 66 113

For men:

Year of birth range Average lifespan (years) Number of individualss
Up to 1700 59 137
From 1701 à 1800 53 139
From 1801 à 1950 54 130

The women average lifespan greatly increased between 17th and 19th – early 20th centuries. The same is true for men, but to a lesser extent.

Infant mortality.
We looked at infant mortality for the years 1680 - 1800, even if the number of deaths recorded (28) is too low to be relevant.
The infant mortality rate is calculated by dividing the number of children who died before the age of one year by the total number of children born alive, expressed in per thousand. This rate is generally calculated for a given year, but we could not do so due to insufficient data.
For the population for which we have information, the figure is 91 per thousand. As a reminder, this rate has been stable in France since 2005 at around 3.5 per thousand.
