ART NOUVEAU After the rigidity of Haussmann buildings, the Art Nouveau movement appeared following the relaxation of administrative constraints. Between 1890 and 1910 the architects Hector Guimard, Jules Lavirotte, Henri Sauvage, and their colleagues placed nature on untied, sinuous, asymmetrical facades, lianas, flowers, octopuses, dragons, ... with the help of the ceramist Alexandre Bigot.
